Portable pyrometers work on the principle of receiving infra-red thermal radiation from an object. Depending on the wavelength they determine the temperature of the object with high accuracy. The model has a digital electronic display that shows measurement results and other information. For accurate measurements the instrument is equipped with laser sighting. The principle of operation of pyrometers is based on the fact that all material bodies emit electromagnetic energy, and the intensity and spectrum of the emission of this energy depends directly on their temperature. Pyrometers detect the characteristics of electromagnetic radiation and automatically calculate to what temperature the object has been heated.
